Except that there were this areas where shops are neatly centered. Nepalese were outnumbering local merchants, I observed. Source has it that there are around 100,000 Nepalese around Thailand, but this is even less than those in Myanmar (read more about Nepalese diaspora here). It seemed like there were not many Indonesians visiting Samui. We met a guy who sells souvenirs and told us that we were probably the first Indonesians he ever saw - and we told him that it was likely his lucky day! :D
